Scenic Drives

We hate to brag, but pretty much any drive in our mountains is beautiful. However, the most well known is the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Twice a year — for six weeks in the Fall and again in the Spring — you can view the elusive "Shadow of the Bear" at Whiteside mountain, between Highlands and Cashiers. The natural phenomenon is only visible for 30 minutes on sunny days. Video.
